Chinchillas are bred for quality, health and temperament. They can live up to 20 years. Shahna Powell is CEO of Global Chinchilla Alliance and author of Chinchilla Care 101: The Ultimate Reference Guide which is a hot seller. In Singapore, I continue the lineage of USA bloodline from the best of the best that I import from her and another master breeder before 2020, Jim , who used to breed show quality chinchillas exclusively through weekly auctions from www.chinchillas.com. Shahna Powell and I only breed for improvement and we avoid malpractices. There is no history of illnesses in our breeding chinchillas so as to avoid undesirable traits like aggression, hunchback, abscess, poor fur, poor conformation, seizures, malocclusion, small sizes, sharp faces and even short lifespans and so on. Vet fees can be very expensive if you get a chinchilla without doing your research/ from unscrupulous backyard breeders without USDA/ AVS permits. We are subject to adherence to stringent laws and regulations in USA and here in Singapore too. We get inspections and pay fees. We also submit monthly updates to the authorities.
